Selection of top-grade rawhides and their origins
Unique Tanning and Dyeing Techniques
There are two ways of drum dyeing aniline leather.
The dye penetrates the grain side into the inner layer to achieve the same color on all sides.
The top and bottom sides are dyed in one color only after the middle part is dyed thoroughly in another color.
Spraying top and bottom surfaces
Different areas of a natural rawhide, such as shoulders、 belly and heads, tend to absorb dyes differently, resulting in vastly inconsistent hues. At Chen Tong, after we drum dye our leather with aniline and put to dry, we spray its top and bottom surfaces for color consistency to meet your demands.
At Chen Tong, we insist on cutting our cowhides from heads to hindquarters, going with their natural fiber grains. Areas such as belly and heads tend to consist of loose fiber, so we discard a great proportion of these parts to offer the best leather that is the back part, whose fiber and physical attributes are the easiest to control, resulting in flawless appearances and durable pliability. The drawback of straight-cut is that, when the required length is over 70 inches, the area beyond necks is included, whose fiber is not as tight as the other areas and whose physical attributes are harder to control. Due to this reason, straight-cut leather is limited to 70 inches.
We keep reducing the affection caused by the products
